A digital-assets client wanted to offer Ethereum staking to their customers, but the idea hadn’t yet become an architecture, let alone a build. We took it from discovery through to validator node infrastructure, a staking API, a staking reporting API, and a live service we stayed on to support.

The challenge

An idea for a staking product, and nothing built yet.

The client wanted to offer Ethereum staking to their customers, but the initial idea hadn’t yet turned into an architecture. There was no validator node infrastructure, no data model for tracking rewards and performance reliably, and no way for customers to see what their stake was actually earning.

Running Ethereum validators as a customer-facing service carries operational stakes most teams underestimate: slashing risk from misconfigured or duplicate validators, key management that has to be right from day one, and node uptime that directly affects customer rewards. None of that forgives a build-and-walk-away approach.

The client needed a partner who could take the idea from discovery through to a live, reliable service, and stay on to run it, not hand over a specification and move on to the next engagement.

Our approach

Five workstreams. One team, idea to operations.

We stayed on the same team from the first discovery conversation through to running the platform in production, so nothing got lost in a handover between the people who designed it and the people who had to operate it.

Discovery & ideation

Worked through the client's staking product ambitions from first principles: who the end customers were, what they'd need to see, and the custody, security and regulatory constraints of running Ethereum validators as a customer-facing service.

Node & data infrastructure

Stood up and hardened the Ethereum validator node infrastructure, execution and consensus clients, key management, slashing protection, alongside the underlying data infrastructure needed to track validator performance, balances and rewards reliably.

Staking API & transaction build

Built the API surface for staking, unstaking and withdrawal transactions, handling the operational realities of validator activation and exit queues and the full transaction lifecycle.

Staking reporting API

Built a dedicated reporting API giving customers real visibility into staking rewards, validator performance and balances, structured around what customers actually needed to see rather than a raw dump of chain data.

Delivery & service delivery support

Took the platform live and stayed on as the operational owner: monitoring node health, handling incidents, and providing ongoing service delivery support rather than handing over a build and walking away.

The outcome

A live staking platform, and a partner who stayed on.

The platform went from idea to production, with the same team accountable for the architecture now accountable for keeping it running.
